OXFORD — Ole Miss didn’t take long to fill the suddenly open date on its 2025 football schedule.
The university announced Monday that it has added Washington State to its schedule for the 2025 season. The game will be played on Oct. 11, 2025 in Oxford.
The Cougars will replace Wake Forest, which canceled the second half of a home-and-home series after Ole Miss won 40-6 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, earlier this season.
This will be the first ever meeting between Ole Miss and Washington State, and will be a one-year contract with no return game. It makes Washington State only the second current or former Pac-12 team the Rebels have faced after playing a home-and-home with Cal in 2017 and 2019.
Washington State is one of the two remaining members of the Pac-12, along with Oregon State, following the departure of 10 schools to the ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12.
The Pac-12 recently announced the addition of five schools from the Mountain West beginning in 2026, so Washington State and Oregon State are essentially playing as FBS independents and trying to fill their schedules for 2025. The Ole Miss game is the sixth that Washington State currently has scheduled for next season.
Washington State joins Georgia State (Aug. 30), The Citadel (Sept. 6), and Tulane (Sept. 20) on Ole Miss’ 2025 non-conference schedule. Ole Miss will play eight home games in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for the first time in the program’s history.
Ole Miss’ Southeastern Conference home games will be against Arkansas, Florida, LSU and South Carolina. It will play Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Mississippi State on the road.
So far, the SEC has only announced each team’s conference opponents for 2025 and not the full league schedule.
