Arnold Dean was home for the weekend from A&M College. • T.H. Allein was out of the hospital after a severe illness.

P.C. Canizaro resigned from the Legislature. • Maj. David McCoach Jr. was uprooted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. • The Warren County Poultry Show opened.
80 YEARS AGO: 1944
U.S. Marine Alton Joseph was promoted to sergeant. • Mrs. Winnie Cole and son left for a visit to Monroe.
70 YEARS AGO: 1954
Mrs. George Schuman received a $75 award for her trip to Washington after being named “Outstanding Woman of the Year” from Home Demonstration Clubs of Vicksburg. • Services were held for Mrs. Ella Clark.

Mrs. Paul Cooper was vacationing in Florida. • Services were held for Lawrence Sprouse, a former Warren County resident who died in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Day returned from a visit with their son in Orlando.

Michelle McDaniel was chosen as homecoming queen at St. Aloysius High School. • Vicksburg High School’s homecoming queen was Deborah Brown.
