Snow possible New Year’s Eve

[12/27/00] There is only a chance there might be snow around New Year’s Eve in Vicksburg.
Temperatures will remain well above freezing locally as rain continues Wednesday night, said Steve Miller at the Jackson office of the National Weather Service.
There is a 50 percent chance of rain Thursday, but, in a familiar pattern, the rain is to end before temperatures fall below freezing.
Miller said there is a chance of snow flurries Friday and again on Sunday.
“But that’s a little iffy right now,” he said, adding it is also too early to try to predict if there will be any accumulation.
Predicted highs are between 40 and 45 Friday, but only between 30 and 35 Saturday and Sunday. The lows could drop to the low 20s Saturday night and to mid-20s Sunday night.
