Ethel Lusk

WEST MONROE, La. Ethel Lusk died Monday, July 14, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Mrs. Lusk was a resident of West Monroe, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Lusk.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny Lusk of West Monroe and Jerald Lusk of Vicksburg; two brothers, Merle Basco of Boyce, La., and Curtis Conrad of Baton Rouge; a sister, Shirley Ann Carlson of Providence, R.I.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery in Eros, La., with the Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.

Jurewell B. Strong

UTICA Jurewell B. “J.B.” Strong died Monday, July 14, 2003, at his home. He was 86.

Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Strong had lived in Utica for the past 52 years. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bear Creek Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph William and Thena Greer Strong; two brothers, J.W. Strong and Rudolph Strong; and two sisters, Agnes Newsome and Alice Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice S. Strong of Utica; two sons, Clyde Strong and Mark Strong, both of Utica; a brother, Roy Strong of Yucaipa, Calif.; a sister, Dale Korlath of Clinton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with the Rev. Melvin Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Bill Greer Cemetery in Carlisle, Miss.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Cotton, Jerry Skelton, Greg Boyd, Mark Greer, Joseph Strong and Gary Strong.

Cassie Catherine Vick

OAK GROVE Cassie Catherine Vick died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital. She was 83.

Mrs. Vick was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Allen Vick; and her parents, Hosie Sedell Bolding and Effie Rogenia Bolding.

Survivors include a daughter, Veda Bankston of Oak Grove; two grandchildren, Donna Dukes of Oak Grove and Allen Bankston of Clearwater, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. David Radford officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Bankston, Johnny Dukes, Don Bankston, Ryan Bankston, Damon Cox and Joey Bolding.
