Diane Banks

PORT GIBSON Diane Banks died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. She was 61.

Mrs. Banks was a resident of Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Rosie Truitt; a daughter, Willette White; two sisters, Flora Truitt Brown and Dora M. Truitt-Wilson; four brothers, Shelby Truitt, Willie Truitt, Robert Truitt and Bennie McClure.

Survivors include her husband, George Banks of Port Gibson; two daughters, Natasha Gaines and Sharon Banks, both of Vicksburg; seven sons, George Truitt of Jackson, Curby Truitt, Willie Truitt and Daron Truitt, all of Vicksburg, Samuel Banks and Emmanuel Banks, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Tekoa Banks of Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Josephine Smith and Rosie Edwards, both of Midwest City, Okla., and Charlotte Truitt of Port Gibson; a brother, Jessie Truitt of Port Gibson; grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Treasure’s Assembly of God in Russum, Miss., with the Rev. James Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with family hour from 6 until 7 and from 1 p.m. Friday until the service at the church.

Vivian Cecilia Conti Coleman

Vivian Cecilia Conti Coleman died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at her home. She was 84.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Coleman was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Coleman; and her parents, Anthony William and Victoria Palmer Conti.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Coleman of Vicksburg; a daughter, Marcia Kaldenhoven of Hemestede, The Netherlands; a sister, Evelyn White of Vicksburg; a brother, A.J. Conti of Metairie, La.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7:30 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home with rosary at 6.

Pallbearers will be Paul Banchetti, William I. Lewis, Dr. Glenn Taylor, Martin White, Robert Amborn, Dr. Dan Dare, Landman Teller Jr. and Dr. Robert Abraham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent Bonelli, Mark Dortch, Tom Murphy, Ernest Thomas, Dr. Don Jackson, Jimmy Horn, John Hennessey, Dr. Jimmy Vessell, Dr. Jose Ferrer, Chris Tancrell and David Boone.

Albert R. Duncan Sr.

Albert R. Duncan Sr. died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his home. He was 94.

Mr. Duncan was born in Lewis County in Tennessee to the late Arthur and Ollie Norman Duncan. He moved to Vicksburg in 1938 and was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District until his retirement in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Dollie P. Duncan of Vicksburg; two sons, Albert R. Duncan Jr. and Jerry P. Duncan, both of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Diane Duncan of Vicksburg and Jeffrey Duncan of Goldsboro, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eric Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lucius Dabney, George Downing, Jeffrey Duncan, Walter Hallberg Jr., Walter Hallberg III and Freddie Rush.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Paula Grayson

Services for Paula Grayson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Ms. Grayson died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 33.

Ms. Grayson was employed with Tyson Inc. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Duck, and a sister, Nevah Duck.

Survivors include four sons, De’Anthony Grayson and De’Arius Grayson, both of Vicksburg, Don Grayson of Missouri and Derringer Grayson of Kentucky; four daughters, Davita Grayson, De’Martennia Stevenson and Dillateese Grayson, all of St. Louis, Mo., and DeVon Cole of Kentucky; her father, Seywood Grayson of Vicksburg; three sisters, Stacey Duck of Turkey, Cheryl Grayson of Jackson and Pearl Proctor Vaughn of Vicksburg; three brothers, David Duck of Greenwood and Charles Duck and Patrick Grayson, both of Vicksburg; and friends and other relatives, including Charlotte Taylor, Edna Lee Taylor, Minnie Grayson and Bobby Lee Taylor, all of Vicksburg.
