Allen P. Mayeaux died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

Mr. Mayeaux was born in Marksville, La. He had lived in Tallulah for over 40 years and moved to Vicksburg eight years ago. He was a retired butcher from the Tallulah A&P grocery store, and he was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Savage Mayeaux of Vicksburg; three daughters, Robinette Pickett of Hesmer, La., Paula Deweese of Tallulah and Pam Crawford of Vicksburg; three brothers, Hersey Mayeaux of Mineral Wells, Texas, Julius Mayeaux of Marksville and S.J. Mayeaux of Belle Chasse, La.; one sister, Anne Mae Stroud of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Mike Fields officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 7 at the funeral home.
