Michael Kristopher Kolby Porter

Michael Kristopher Kolby Porter died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at his residence. He was 19.

Born in Vicksburg, he attended Warren Central High School where he was active in athletics, playing on the varsity soccer team. He was an avid sportsman with a devotion to hunting and fishing. Mr. Porter attended Bowmar Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Terri C. Strange and Robert A. Strange Jr. of Vicksburg; father, Rodney “Chip” Porter (Terry Dunigan) of Vicksburg; maternal grandfather, Lloyd G. Craft Jr. (Barbara Jean Craft) of Concord, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Livingston (Robert Sykes) of Vicksburg; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Shirley G. Porter of Vicksburg; four aunts, Robin Buckley of Vicksburg, Kelly Hambright of Redwood, Portia Suell of Eagle Lake and Lisa Porter of Savannah, Ga.; two uncles, Dr. Michael Baker and Dwight Baker, both of Vicksburg; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Sherri L. Craft.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bowmar Baptist Church with the Rev. T. J. Tennison officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday at Bowmar Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until the service.

Memorials may be made to Warren Central Athletics-Soccer, 1000 Highway 27, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Pallbearers will be Cody Barfield, John Bonelli, Colby Kaufman, Jimmie Elliott, Craig Noble, Chase Baker, Chad Buckley, Shawn Woods, Kip Hull and Dee White.
