Holy Trinity’s Lenten series starts March 11

The Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, is preparing for its 14th annual Lenten Fine Arts Series.

The series kicks off March 11 and runs each Friday through April 15. The sessions, except March 11,will feature a 30-minute free show and a $10 gumbo lunch.

“We have the patent on the best seafood gumbo anywhere,” said Dorothy Brasfield, Holy Trinity’s organist and choirmaster and founder of the church’s Conservatory of the Fine Arts. “People really look forward to our gumbo.”

Each program, with the exception of March 11, will begin at 12:05 p.m. The March 11 program will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and will feature works by contemporary Southern artist Patricia Walker, a former Vicksburg resident. Her paintings will be displayed in the church hall. A wine and cheese reception will accompany the show.
