City man accused of $12,000 false pretense

A Vicksburg man was released from the Warren County Jail this morning after being held on a felony false pretense charge.

Christopher Montpelier, 40, 4680 Lee Road, was arrested on a warrant by Warren County deputies at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at his home, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Montpelier is accused of using a credit card number he obtained through the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, where he was a roofing contractor, for unauthorized purchases of more than $12,000, Pace said.

He was released on a $25,000 bond.
