A free flood trauma support group chartered by the Mississippi branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Martha Vick conference room at the Quality Inn and Suites, 3332 Clay St.

Tonight’s meeting will feature a presentation by Marie Thompson, special assistant in the mayor’s office, followed by a group discussion related to individual efforts to overcome trauma, depression, frustration and other issues resulting from the 2011 Mississippi River Flood.

Group members have included those displaced from their homes as well as volunteers and professionals involved in relief and recovery efforts, said organizer Randall Williams.
