Man held in stabbing at motel

A Woodville man accused of stabbing his cousin at a Vicksburg motel was held without bail Thursday.

Charles Smith, 40, 104 Smith Lane, was arrested at 8 p.m. Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Smith is accused of stabbing his cousin during an argument at Dixiana Motel, 4041 Washington St., Williams said.

The men were staying in Vicksburg while on a work assignment when the stabbing occurred, she said.

 

Tallulah man faces charges in Calsonic theft

A Tallulah man accused of stealing wiring from the former Calsonic plant was in jail here Thursday.

Marcus Dun, 40, 406 Sixth St., was taken into custody after being released from jail in Madison Parish where he was facing unrelated charges, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Dunn is accused of breaking into a then vacant building at 101 Calsonic Way in Ceres industrial park and stealing wiring and pieces of the electrical system in April 2014, Pace said. Dunn was indicted in 2014 for grand larceny but was serving a sentence in Louisiana and not brought to court.

He was held without bail in the Warren County jail Thursday awaiting arraignment in circuit court.

 

Truck, electronics missing

A truck and electronics were missing following two thefts in Vicksburg.

At 6:20 a.m. Thursday, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with Mississippi license plate WBI085 was reported missing from the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Bazinsky Road, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The truck’s owner reported that it was last seen about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Williams said.

Additionally, a pair of speakers valued at $50 and an LG television valued at $250 were reported stolen at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday from a home in the 1900 block of Hope Street, Williams said.
