UNION CHURCH — Ida Mae Rogers died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Merit Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 55.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Ward of Vicksburg and Jerrick Ward of Port Gibson; a daughter, Belinda Taylor of Jackson; three brothers, Henry L. Ward and Jerry Ward, both of Vicksburg, Timothy Ward of Chicago; eight sisters, Jessica Ward, and Toni Ward, both of Port Gibson, Beatrice Ward of Lorman, Jacqueline Salvage and Linda Johnson, both of Vicksburg, Joann (Mary) Ward of Jackson, Jessica Brown of Lorman and Trenessa Moore of Fayette; a special friend; two uncles; eight aunts; seven grandchildren; and step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Awesome Christ Warrior Outreach Tabernacle with the Rev. Chester Watts officiating. The Rev. John McNeal will do the eulogy. Burial will be at McBride Cemetery in Union Church under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.

 

Walter Ryals Jr.

HERMANVILLE — Walter Ryals Jr. died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 52.

Mr. Ryals was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ryals Sr. and Olga Lee Simon Ryals.

Survivors include by his wife, Carolyn Banks Ryals of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, Quartez Banks of Raymond, Walter Ryals III of Mobile, Ala., and Cedric Banks and Casey Ryals, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Lisa Snells of Alaska and Jalysa Ryals of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; eight sisters, two brothers, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and a special mother-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at First Christian Church in Hermanville, with the Rev. Eddie Wells officiating and Rev. John Eggleston doing the eulogy. Burial will be at Banks Family Cemetery in Hermanville under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
