Driver sought in hit and run; victim in hospital

A driver in a hit and run crash was being sought Tuesday after running over a pedestrian Saturday off U.S. 61 South.

About 1:15 a.m. Saturday, police received a call of a man who had been struck by a vehicle in the 4000 block of Cedars Road and found 46-year-old Jeffery Clark suffering from “life-threatening injuries,” Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Clark fled the scene before police arrived, Williams said.

Clark was taken by ambulance to Merit Health River Region Medical Center and later to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was in serious condition Tuesday, hospital spokeswoman Alana Bowman said.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a felony suspect. Callers remain anonymous and do not have to testify in court.

 

Electronics, tools missing in burglaries

Electronics and tools were missing following two burglaries reported Monday in Warren County.

About 5:30 p.m., a 32-inch television valued at $450, a Murray lawn mower valued at $125 and six Craftsman jig saws valued at $300 were reported missing from a home in the 6600 block of Fisher Ferry Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

At 10:46 p.m., an Xbox 1 valued at $350 was reported missing from a home in the 4900 block of Halls Ferry Road, according to sheriff’s records.

 

One held for MDOC

A Vicksburg man was held without bail Tuesday for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Grady Bishop, 22, whose last known address is 111 Bering St., was held for a probation violation, according to Warren County Jail records.
