Sweet Bubba needs a new, loving home

The staff at the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society sees this situation often. In Bubba’s case, his elderly owner was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and placed in a nursing home. Unfortunately, his owner had no other family. Bubba had no place to go. A neighbor brought Bubba to the Humane Society shelter.

“We need to get Bubba into a new home,” said Georgia Lynn, the Humane Society’s director.

Lynn said Bubba is a neutered male and about 6 years old.

“He is very sweet and friendly with years of living to go,” she said. Bubba is house trained and gets along with other animals. He also likes children.

One drawback to Bubba, Lynn said, is that he has a tumor behind his right front leg.

“Dr. Ruggles of Vicksburg Animal Hospital said it doesn’t bother him in any way and is most likely not cancer,” she said.

Removing the tumor would cost around $200.

“This is always particularly sad to us because from six weeks of age until now, Bubba had a loving home and is now homeless,” Lynn said.
