A traffic stop for running a red light resulted in the arrest of a Vicksburg man on a Texas warrant, Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

Wade Carter Jr., 28, was arrested about 8:56 p.m. Wednesday after a records check during the stop showed he had an outstanding warrant for probation violation. He was being held in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting Texas authorities. Edwards said Carter has a similar warrant for probation violation in Mississippi.
