Warren Central baseball camp

Warren Central’s annual Vikings Baseball Camp will be held May 27-30 at Viking Field. The camp is open to boys ages 5-14 and will focus on baseball fundamentals and sportsmanship. Instructors will include WC coaches and players.

The registration fee is $100. Registration will be at the WC baseball fieldhouse from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day. On the last day of the camp there will be optional sliding drills conducted on a watered-down tarp.

Players should bring cleats, shorts and T-shirt, tennis shoes, sunscreen, and a towel and change of clothes on May 30.

Cannon soccer holding tryouts

Tryouts for the Cannon Soccer Club’s competitive program will be held June 14 at 10 a.m., and June 17 at 6 p.m. at the Vicksburg Soccer Organization Complex in Bovina. The tryouts are for players ages 9-18.

“Fuzzy” Johnson baseball sign-up

Registration for the James “Fuzzy” Johnson youth baseball league will continue throughout May. Registration will be conducted each Saturday at Fuzzy Johnson Field on Mission 66.

Hinds CC soccer camp

Hinds Community College will host its annual youth soccer camp June 2-6 on the Raymond campus. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-14. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Instructors for the camp include Hinds men’s coach Doug Williams and women’s coach Marcille McLendon, along with assistant coaches Brandon Mitchell and Amanda Smith, and former Hinds players.

The cost of the camp is $175 after that date. Checks should be made payable to HCC Soccer Camp.

Summer tennis at Halls Ferry

The City of Vicksburg’s summer youth tennis program will begin June 9 at Halls Ferry Park. The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Individual matches will be played from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by junior team tennis from 10 a.m. to noon.

The program is open to players ages 5 through 18, and there is no charge.
