According to the National Weather Service forecast for the weekend, the area has a 20 percent chance of light rain with a slight chance of light snow to go with low temperatures in the low 30s Friday night.

The Saturday forecast calls a 20 percent chance of light rain or snow in the morning before the sun comes out and warms the area with temperatures in the upper 40s.

“There is a small chance for some snow probably Friday night and Saturday, probably around I-20 and north,” said Latrice Maxey, National Weather Service meteorologist.

She said the chances for any accumulation of snow is slight, however.

“It will get you a little dusting on your rooftop,” she said. “There may be some rain and then it transitions to snow before it stops.”
