Charles Selma, president of Branch 94 of the National Association of Letter Carriers and food drive coordinator, helps unload from the mail trucks during Saturday and Monday’s food drive for the poor. Carriers this year collected 15,175 pounds of food, up from last year’s 14,500 pounds. The drive, led by the carriers and the United Way of West Central Mississippi, was the eighth in the area. Those agencies receiving the food are Good Shepherd Community Center, Haven House Family Shelter, River City Rescue Mission, St. Peter’s Church, The Salvation Army, Warren County Children’s Shelter and We Care Community Services.
