BERTHA MAE EZELL

WISNER, La. Bertha Mae Ezell died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah.

She was 93.

Born in Wisner, Mrs. Ezell had lived in Madison Parish for 21 years. She was a housewife and a member of Richland Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Edward Ezell of Houston, Texas, and Joe Ezell of Tallulah; her daughter, Josephine Fullmer of Tallulah; three brothers, R.W. Stephens of Vidalia, V.J. Stephens of Natchez and Huey P. Stephens of Wisner; two sisters, Gladys Farrar of West Monroe and Julia Wilson of Tallulah; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Wisner with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

EUNICE SYKES

DELHI, La. Eunice Sykes died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Vicksburg. She was 89.

He was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Sykes; two sons, Jasper C. Sykes and Elbert Calvin Sykes; her parents, W.J. and Maggie Garrett; and a grandson, Keith Ray Sykes.

She is survived by two sons, Billy .R. Sykes of Delhi and Donald W. Sykes of Hernando; two daughters, Ollis S. Hull of Vicksburg and Mary Alice Posey of Lake Providence; her sister, Ollie Smith of Rayville; and 20 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. Jeff Sykes officiating. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery in Delhi.

HENRY WATSON

Henry “Lee” Watson died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 62.

Born in Richey, Mr. Watson was a graduate of Anguilla High School. He has been a resident of Vicksburg for the last 35 years. He was employed with George Carr Dealership for the last 28 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie R. Watson.

He is survived by two sons, Greg Watson and Kevin Watson, both of Birmingham; his daughter, Deborah Price of Summit; three brothers, Billy Watson, Joe Watson and Roy Watson, both of Rolling Fork; three sisters, Mary Hyde of Vicksburg, Linda Towe of Sand Springs, Okla. And Hilda Peoples of Tulsa, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Braddock, Pete Summers, George Carr, Don Morton, Preston Balthrop and Billy Fuller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Florence Dennis, Pat Dennis, Johnny Leachman, Mike O’Neal, Dr. Lee Giffin, Dr. Shawn Panzer, Dr. Martin Newcomb and the salesmen and staff of George Carr.

LELA GRACE RABB WROTEN

TALLULAH Lela Grace Rabb Wroten died Monday, Dec.24, 2001, in Olive Branch Senior Care Center. She was 89.

Born in Wilkinson County, Mrs. Wroten had lived in Tallulah for 76 years. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah. She is survived by three daughters, Emily Ruth Ervin and Lee Ann Arbuckle, both of Tallulah, and Carolyn E. Wroten of Shreveport; two sons, Roy Douglas Wroten of Tallulah and Ronnie Wroten of Vicksburg; three sisters, Gladys Rabb Guice, Vivian Rabb Carnolatti and Mary Elizabeth Rabb, all of Tallulah; her brother, Elmo Burton Crothers of Tallulah; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Robert Webb, Justin Arbuckle, Bill Arbuckle, Chuck Ervin, Doug Wroten and Albia Steers.
