Alexia Tierra Johnson, infant daughter of Autumn Johnson and Alexander Ellis Jr., died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at River Region Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, Alexia is survived by a brother, Anthony Jones Jr.; her sister, Armani Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Melva Buchanan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Leon Turner of Vicksburg; her paternal grandparents, Charlotte Campbell and Alexander Ellis Sr., both of Jackson; her great-grandparents, Verna Davis of Vicksburg, Joyce Marie Jones of Port Gibson and Carrie Ellis of Jackson; and other relatives.

RUFUS KING

PORT GIBSON Rufus King died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at River Region Medical Center West. He was 79.

Mr. King was a member of Christian Chapel Church in Port Gibson. He owned and operated King’s Shoe Shop for more than 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus D. King Sr. and Nettie Chambliss-King; and a sister, Clymathes B. King.

He is survived by his wife, Hallie King of Port Gibson; a son, Rufus Van King of Chicago; a daughter, Joyce King of Mount Bayou; grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Christian Chapel Church in Port Gibson with Elder T.E. Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home and from 2 p.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

MILES MALLORY

GALENA, Md. Miles Mallory died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Bayheath-Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del., as the result of a work-related accident. He was 39.

Born at Fort Bragg, N.C., Mr. Mallory served in the U.S. Army following high school. He was employed for 12 years by Conectiv Electric Company as a lead lineman. For the last two years, he had been co-owner and lead lineman of Rock Creek Line Construction Co. He and his wife also owned and operated George’s deli and the Green Street Barber Shop in Middletown, Del.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Elizabeth “Boo” Davis and Henry “Spec” and Mary Louise Fielder.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey C. Mallory; his son, Chad Mallory; his daughter, Ashley Mallory; his parents, James Polk Mallory and Mary Lou Fielder Cannon, both formerly of Vicksburg; two stepchildren, Jim Lake and Angela Lake; his stepmother, Caroline Sue Mallory of Berlin, Md.; his stepfather, Robert L. Cannon of Hebron, Md.; his brother, CW4 James P. Mallory III of Stafford, Va.; his sister, Maureen Elizabeth Hogg of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; a stepbrother, Michael Hickman of York, Pa.; and other relatives including, Drue Fielder Joy, Betty Mallory Morgan, Vivian B. Mallory and Michael A. Mallory, all formerly of Vicksburg.

Services were today in Salisbury, Md. under the direction of Bounds Funeral Home.

Memorials may made to a favorite charity.

BEATRICE VOSS

PORT GIBSON Beatrice Voss died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 92.

Mrs. Voss was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, president of Second Baptist Missionary association and chaired a committee of the Mississippi Baptist Association.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Bell Jones-Morgan.

She is survived by a son, Freddie Lacey of Layton, Utah; her daughter, Johnnie B. Lacey of Chicago; two sisters, Odessa Jackson of Pattison and Helen Beasley of Hermanville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home and from noon Sunday until the service at the church.

OLLIE WEBSTER

PORT GIBSON Ollie Webster died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 88.

Mrs. Webster is survived by her son, Henry Parker of Vicksburg; a granddaughter, Marquetta Parker of Vicksburg; a grandson, Justin Parker of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Ruby Patterson and Cynthia Brown, both of Port Gibson, and Tyrone Green of Bowling Green, Ky.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springhill Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Eddie Walls officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
