Stirring up fun and a mess

Robert Sanders gets a little carried away as he stirs a paper-making solution that landed in Taylor Grissom’s hair Thursday at the Southern Cultural Heritage Complex. The paper-making project consisted of mixing water and confetti-size pieces of paper into a bucket until they make the right consistency. About 10 children attended the workshop using embroidery hoops with screens to frame their sheets of paper. The hoop and its contents were sponged, rolled with a rolling pin and put on felt for drying. Grass and flowers were added to the mixture for texture, and cookie cutters were used to make designs in the paper. Robert is the son of Jeanne and David Sanders of Vicksburg. Taylor is the daughter of Helen Grissom and Mark Grissom, both of Vicksburg.(The Vicksburg Post/Melanie Duncan)
