Critters stay unbeaten at Super Series

[07/19/02]The Vicksburg Critters stayed unbeaten at the 13-year-olds’ Super Series of America Baseball National Championships on Thursday.

Michael Busby went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a three-run triple in the sixth inning that boosted the Critters to a 7-2 win over the Capital City Stars, a team from Topeka, Kan.

Tyler Wells held the Stars to only two hits and one run in six innings. Spencer Carney had two hits and three RBIs.

The Critters, one of only four unbeatens left in the tournament, were to play the undefeated San Diego (Calif.) Hawks this morning. If the Critters win, they’ll play again Saturday. If they lose, they’ll play at 5 p.m. today.
