Warren Central High School percussionist Alanna Leist, 14, plays the guiro Thursday while displaying one of the “Beware of Freshman” signs that older students made for her and other freshmen during band camp at Warren Central High School. Warren Central High School band director Alan Arendale said that the older students always play jokes on the newcomers during camp. Leist said, “It’s all in good fun.” The 130-member band started preparing new routines and material for the upcoming school year at the beginning of camp Monday two weeks ago.
