Lady Vikes win season opener, 7-2

[08/14/02]Cookie Johnson’s move from the outfield to shortstop paid dividends in Warren Central’s first game of the season.

The sophomore had a pair of doubles, two RBIs and rolled two double plays in a 7-2 win over Morton.

Katie Barnett had two hits and Keisha Blue had a pair of hits and an RBI as the Lady Vikes had 11 hits. WC did leave 14 runners on base.

Hayley Martin pitched a complete game and did not walk a batter to earn the win.

The Lady Vikes will be at Greenville on Thursday at 4 p.m.
