Services for Kaylee Nichole Stevens were at 11 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Neil Stewart and James Nakim officiating. Burial followed at Bethesda Cemetery in Hinds County.

Kaylee died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 7.

She was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.

She is survived by her parents, Jamie and Angel Stevens of Vicksburg; a sister, Abigayle Stevens of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Karen Hubbard of Edwards; her paternal grandmother, Tamara Stevens Warnock of Vicksburg; her paternal grandfather, Ricky Stevens of Newport News, Va.; maternal great-grandmother, May O’Conner of Wickenberg, Ariz.; and her paternal great-grandparents, Ralph and Velma Stevens of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers were Dwight Baker, Joel Hubbard, Rodney Hubbard and Jerry Powell.

MARGARET BUSSELL SUMMITT

HAMBURG, Ark. Margaret Bussell Summitt died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Oak Woods Home for the Elderly in Mer Rouge, La. She was 92.

A native of Delhi, Mrs. Summitt was reared in Natchez. She had lived in Hamburg, Ark., since 1940. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Hamburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Bussell Sr.; a son, Earnest Bussell Jr.; her parents, W.M. Tatum and Lizzie Perkins; and four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Bubba Bussell of Crossett, Ark.; a daughter, Myrtle Cochran of Hamburg; one brother, Henry Carroll of Pawhuska, Okla.; one sister, Ethel Blackledge of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg with the Rev. Klois Hargis and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Hamburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Doug Bussell, Eddie Stanley, Tim Vaden, Carl John Gwin, D.J. Bussell and Willard Noble.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Carpenter, Billy Veazey, Roy Vaden, Billy Beirbaum and Henry Beirbaum.

WILLIE LEE TAYLOR

FITLER Willie Lee Taylor died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 68.

Mrs. Taylor was a Fitler resident.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmie Taylor of Vicksburg, Floyd Taylor of Greenville and Charles Taylor of Virginia Beach, Va.; four daughters, Theresa Scott and Valeria F. Cooper, both of Memphis, Mildred Smith of Rolling Fork and Chief Petty Officer Letha Taylor of Izmir, Turkey; two brothers, Roosevelt Smith of Chicago and L.D. Smith of Virginia Beach; one sister, Theresa Hampton of St. Louis, Mo.; and 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Sunday at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Fitler with Pastor Leroy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

ALVIN TURNER

LORMAN Alvin Turner died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. He was 94.

Mr. Turner was a member and deacon at Rose Hill Christian Church and Sunrise Lodge No. 579 in Lorman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Turner and Cenie Brothers Turner; two sisters, Julia Sawyer and Veda Nichols; four brothers, Louis Turner, John Turner Sr., Henry Turner and Alvert Turner; wives, Addie Turner and Mattie Turner; and four children.

He is survived by three daughters, Queen Thomas of Port Gibson, Annie M. Brown of Indianola and Ethel Smith of College Park, Ga.; three sons, Joseph Turner of Inglewood, Calif., Alvin Turner Jr. of Los Angeles and Benard Turner of Carson, Calif.; two sisters, Bernell Monroe of Port Gibson and Bessie Chapman of Baton Rouge; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including A.J. Carpenter of Lorman and Jo Lillian Jackson and Gloria Jean King, both of Fayette.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Russum with Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Port Gibson and from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

SAMMIE WALL

DELTA Sammie Wall died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at River Region West. She was 76.

Mrs. Wall was born in Vicksburg and was a lifelong resident of Delta. She was retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin H. Wall, and a brother, Lonnie Ruffin.

She is survived by a son, Benjamin H. Wall Jr. of Delta; one granddaughter, Desiree Wall of Delta; a sister and brother-in-law, Verlina and John Cheatwood; and other relatives and friends.

Tennant Mortuary Service in Rayville, La., has charge of arrangements.
