Rebuilding rain-collapsed wall

Published 12:00 am Friday, November 15, 2002

Mac Ferris, sitting, and Eric Jacob with Ferris Landscaping on Thursday piece together a limestone wall that collapsed during a rain storm last month. Ferris said he found stones from the limestone outcropping on U.S 61 North with which to line the 27-foot section of the wall, but original sand and limestone rocks are being used to put the wall back together. Old Court House Museum photos date the lime wall surrounding 1117 Cherry St. to 1876. Homeowner Leslie Voulters said restoring the wall will cost about $3,500. (The Vicksburg Post/Melanie Duncan)
