McLEMORE

Daisy Mae Keen McLemore died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Vicksburg. She was 97.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. McLemore was a homemaker. She was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Meridian, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Bonita Garden Club and the Alphia Delphian Literary Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben McLemore; a son, Reuben S. McLemore; two brothers, Glen Keen and Guy Keen; and two sisters, Tommie Keen and Anne K. Dudley.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarian McLemore Hoxie of Vicksburg; a brother, James Keen of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three granddaughters, Susan Key, Ann Harris and Elizabeth Joyner; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Webb Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Harold Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Leon Pippin, Mac Parker, Larry Bane, Tommy Myers, Jerry Smith and Russell Carr.

WILLIAM LEROY SHOWS

William Leroy Shows died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Lake Providence Sub-Acute Rehab Center. He was 87.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William David Shows and Francis Shows.

Survivors include his wife, Bunah Mae Shows of Lake Providence; a brother, Lynn T. Shows of Delhi; three sister-in-laws and nephews and nieces.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with Dr. James Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Epps Cemetery.

BESSIE SMITH

PORT GIBSON Bessie Smith died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 98.

A resident of Port Gibson, Ms. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Newton and Sarah Strong.

Survivors include three cousins, Jennie B. Hedrick and Charles Davis, both of Port Gibson, and Ruby Thomas of Lorman; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rising Sun Baptist Church in Port Gibson with Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until noon today at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

JEANETT SMITH

Jeanett Smith died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. She was 67.

Miss Smith was born in Mize, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Alton Smith; her mother and stepfather, Willie U. and Robert Moore; and a brother, W.A. Smith Jr.

She is survived by three sisters, Lena Smithey of Vicksburg, Bobbie Schuster of California and Ann Brumley of Oak Grove; and four brothers, Jerry Moore of Bastrop, La., J.D. Moore of Mesquite, Texas, Robert Moore of Jackson and Edward Moore of Monroe.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pioneer Assembly of God with the Rev. Annie Mae Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Albritton, Tony Albritton, Robert Brumley Jr., Robbie Brumley, Swanson Smith and A.C. Carlton.
