Wilma P. Lee

NEWELLTON Wilma P. Lee died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 94.

Mrs. Lee had lived in Newellton for the past 64 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Newellton Union Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Puckett; a sister, Era Shrock; and a great-grandson, Jed Dartlone.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Joe Lee of Tallulah; three daughters, Joyce Watson of Baton Rouge, La., Tommie Jean Leake of Newellton, La., and Sheryl Kiefer of Carthage, Texas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.

Pallbearers will be Billy C. Lee, Benny Lee, Billy Dartlone, Lewis Cobb, Jeff Smith, Eric Aple, Curtis Leake and Trey Leake.

Alma Garvey Palermo

Alma Garvey Palermo died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at her home. She was 84.

A native of Rosedale, Mrs. Palermo had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was the daughter of William J. and Mildred Kelly Garvey.

She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy and retired from the U.S. Government Waterways Experiment Station. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Palermo, and her twin sister, Agnes Garvey Loyacono.

Survivors include a brother, Kelly Garvey of Boyle, Miss., and nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services will be conducted under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
