The Vicksburg Post prints obituaries for residents, former residents and residents’ immediate family members who resided elsewhere when notified by a family member or a funeral home. There is no charge for printing an obituary, but all are edited to meet the newspaper’s requirements.
Eula Burrough
Eula Burrough died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 77.
Born in Yazoo County, Ms. Burrough had been a Vicksburg resident since 1989. She was a retired garment factory employee and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Moss of the U.S. Army, Bradley Moss of Canton, and Dale Burrough of Greenville; a daughter, Phyllis McWilliams of Jackson; two brothers, Harrison Davis of Jackson and Charles Wesley Davis of Forest; and three sisters, Marie Hope and Ruth Craver, both of Vicksburg, and Fannie Parker of Mize.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Annie Mae Norton Loyd
CLAIBORNE COUNTY Annie Mae Norton Loyd died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 94.
Born in Jefferson County, Mrs. Loyd spent most of her life in Claiborne County and was a member of Pattison Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Loyd; a son, Gerry Loyd; and a grandson, Stacey Loyd.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Loyd of Asheville, N.C., and Charles Loyd of Bolton; two daughters, Elizabeth Lang and Cecille Lutz, both of Pattison; a sister, Katie Lee Parker of Iva, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. John Slade officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Lutz, Marlin Lutz, James Loyd, Chris Loyd, Sandy Loyd and Terry Loyd.
