Michael F. Pope
EDWARDS Michael F. Pope died Friday, May 23, 2003 at S. Cameron Memorial Hospital in Cameron, La. He was 49.
Mr. Pope lived in Edwards and was an electrician for Diamond Offshore. He was also a musician.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Mahoney Pope of Edwards; his daughter, Audrey Michelle Pope of Edwards; and his parents Charles Ray and Gloria Magnum Pope of Clinton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Magee with Revs. Bradley Pope and Jerry Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Magee City Cemetery in Magee.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Thomas Francis Simmons Sr.
EPPS, La. Thomas Francis Simmons Sr. died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. He was 52.
Mr. Simmons was born in Crossett, Ark. and lived in Epps.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Lucille Simmons and his brother, James Larry Simmons.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Simmons of Epps; his father, James Oscar Simmons of Epps; two sons, Thomas R. Simmons Jr. of Epps and Joey Hemphill of Monroe.; a daughter, Theresa Higdon of Rayville, La.; three brothers, William Wayne Simmons of Pioneer, La., Robert Marcus Simmons of Rayville and Prentiss Allen Simmons of Epps; three sisters, Judith Rhodes of Epps, Susan Stutts of Tallulah and Joann Norsworthy of Strong, Ark.; eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Jay Morgan and Todd Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Epps Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rev. Jody Farrell, Eddie Turner, Shane Sims, Allen Sullivan, PeeWee Walker and Freddy Corley.
