Jimmy Carter uses a rag to wipe away excess paint on the porch of Carolyn and Webber Brewer’s East Lake Victorian-style home at 1117 Grove St. Thursday afternoon. Carolyn Brewer said the renovations are in preparation for the Vicksburg Fall Pilgrimage, which begins Oct. 3. The house was built in 1870 by Lazarus and Leona Baer. The house is listed on the National Historic Register. (Melanie Duncan ThortisThe Vicksburg Post)
