Albert Ray Brown Sr.

Albert Ray Brown Sr., died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 48.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Brown Sr.; grandparents, Annie Parker and Joe and Indiana Brown, and a sister, JoAnn Brown.

He is survived by a son, Albert Ray Brown Jr., of Albion, Mich.; a daughter, Tasha Brown of Albion; his mother, Mattie Brown of Vicksburg; seven brothers, Arthur Brown Jr., of Columbus, Ga., Larry Brown St. of Lafayette, La., Robert Brown Sr., and Brian Brown both of Albion, Willie Brown of Kenner, La., Michael Brown Sr. and Gregory Brown of Vicksburg, and a sister, Brenda Brown of Vicksburg.

W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Martha Dunbar

HARRISTON, Miss. Martha Dunbar died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at the McComb Extended Care Facilities. She was 80.

Mrs. Dunbar was a member of Jessamine Ridge M.B. Church and a member of John L. Webb-Heroines of Jericho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Dunbar Sr.; her parents, Abe and Nancy Torrey; four sisters, Marry Torrey, Elizabeth Combs-Wells, Celeste Ashley and Lillie W. Bell, and a brother, Percy Redmon.

She is survived by three sons, Leo Dunbar of Chicago, Johnny Dunbar Jr., and James Earl Dunbar both of Harriston; two daughters, Dorothy Lee Floyd of McComb and Rose Dunbar Hammett of Harriston, and three sisters-in-law including Mae Ella Nichols of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jessimine Ridge M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will be at the East Mt. Olive Cemetery in Redlick under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc., of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today with family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home chapel and from 10 a.m. until the service Sunday at the church.

Russell William Stigall Sr.

DELTA CITY, Miss.Russell William Stigall Sr., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 85.

Mr. Stigall was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of the Delta City Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Smith Stigall, three sons, Robert Stigall and Russell Stigall Jr., both of Anguilla and Thomas Stigall Sr., of Delta City; six daughters, Mary Oltremari of Branson, Mo., Jean Sandifer of Lake Washington, Miss., Kathy Sanderford of Delta City, Patsy Luke of Brandon, Sharon King of Straight Bayou, Miss., and Connie Chick of Rolling Fork; one brother, Gene Murrell of Bloomingdale, Ga., and two sisters, Lucille Monteno of Salinas, Calif., and Edna Seale of Rolling Fork.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Delta City Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Vicklan Cemetery in Delta City under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Homes Inc.

Pallbearers will be Rob Stigall, Russ Stigall, Thomas Stigall, Rad Stigall, Wes Wood, Will Wood and Tripp Sandifer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bray Spencer, Bubba Keever, John Chaney, Buddy Hankins, William Clinkscales, Poe Price, John Corder, Leroy Kent, Smitty Hargrave and Bob Hodnett.
