Linda McBroom

Linda McBroom died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. She was 50.
A native of Vicksburg, Miss McBroom was a 1971 graduate of H.V. Cooper High School. She served as a registered X-ray technician and nuclear medicine technician for Vicksburg Hospital for more than 20 years. For the past 10 years, she had lived in Shreveport, La., where she worked for Shumpert Hospital. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Pearline McBroom of Vicksburg; a sister, Judy M. Swan of Baton Rouge; a niece, Abigail Swan of Baton Rouge; aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Revs. Mitchell Hedgepeth, pastor of Hawkins United Methodist Church, and Roy Stewart officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Nellie Ruth Newton
LAKE PROVIDENCE Nellie Ruth Newton died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was 78.
Mrs. Newton was a resident of Lake Providence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Newton; and her parents, Lacy Wood Wiltcher and Dicie Wiltcher.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Newton and Tony Newton, both of Lake Providence; two brothers, Woodrow Wiltcher of Oak Grove and Roland Wiltcher of Lake Providence; a grandson, Eric Newton of Lake Providence; a granddaughter, Crissi Newton of Lake Providence; and other relatives.
Services were at 1 p.m. today at Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Young officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence.
Pallbearers were Mike Wiltcher, Wayne Wiltcher, David Wiltcher, John Wiltcher, Donnie Turnbow and Heath Turnbow.
Melanie Ann Poole
LONGVIEW, Texas Melanie Ann Poole died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2003, in Longview, Texas. She was 40.
Mrs. Poole, a native of Vicksburg, had lived in Longview for four years.
She was a homemaker.
She had attended Warren Central High School.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Ray Poole of Longview; a daughter, Stephanie Poole of Longview; her mother, Frances Marble of Vicksburg; her father, L.D. Rowell of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, L.D. Rowell Jr. and Wayne Rowell, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Sandra Mathes of Vicksburg; and two granddaughters, Katie Vail and Ashley Vail, both of Longview.
