Porter’s 36 sinks Eagles

[12/9/03] Porters Chapel suffered through another fourth-quarter meltdown on Monday night, falling to Chamberlain-Hunt, 61-57.

As they have done all season, the Eagles (4-7) took a lead into the fourth quarter before being outscored 22-11 in the final period. PCA has taken a lead into the fourth quarter in all but three games.

Chip Lofton scored a team-high 18 points, while Dan Ivey netted 15 and Allen Cassell and Michael Warren each scored 10.

CHA’s Joseph Porter scored a game-high 36 points.

PCA is scheduled to play host to Tallulah Academy tonight at 7:30.

Annie Beaugh scored 27 points and Allison Horn added 10 points as the Lady Eagles rolled to a win.

PCA led 23-2 at the end of the first quarter, and extended the lead to 45-4 at halftime.

“We pressed for about the first two minutes of the game, then walked the ball up the floor the rest of the night,” PCA (11-5) coach Kevin Griffin said.
