Nettie Bracey
Services for Nettie Bracey will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Cool Springs Church with the Rev. Ryan Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 until 6 today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Sunday until the service at the church.
Miss Bracey died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at her home. She was 81.
She was a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church, where she served as president of the usher board. She was retired from GNB Battery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nettie Crayton Bracey; six brothers, J.L. Jenkins, L.C. Maxey, John Bracey, Henry Bracey, Joe Bracey and Haywood Bracey; and three sisters, Alean Bracey, Essie D. Morgan and Easter Bracey.
Miss Bracey is survived by her sister, Lucille Bracey of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and friends, including Chandra King of Vicksburg.
Althea Louise Greer Carraway
UTICA Althea Louise Greer Carraway died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.
Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Carraway was a resident of Utica. She graduated from Midway High School and was a bookkeeper and clerk at Kent Reynolds Mercantile in Carpenter, Miss.
She was a former employee of Jitney Jungle, F and F Supermart, Utica Drug Store, Utica Stop & Shop and Sunflower Food Store. She was a member of Utica Methodist Church.
Mrs. Carraway was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Lee Carraway; and her parents, Robert Lee and Liza Ann Ford Greer.
Survivors include a son, Kermit Lee Carraway Jr. of Miami, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kermit Lyell Carraway of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Kirsten Leigh Carraway Swanepoel of Scotts Valley, Calif.; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 today at Utica United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.
Visitation will be from noon today until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be R.C. Mobley, W.L. Smith, Russell McGuffee, Lee Herren, Russ McGuffee, Dorsey Longmire, Johnathon Longmire and Robert Mobley Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be R.E. Mobley, Kenneth Vaughn, David Murray and James Cassell.
Edna Faye Edwards
HERMANVILLE Services for Edna Faye Edwards will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Hermanville. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Church Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edwards died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Hospice Ministries Inc. in Ridgeland. She was 50.
A resident of Hermanville, she was an accounting clerk at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Dallas.
Survivors include her husband, Rufus Edwards of Port Gibson; and two sons, Larry Lockett III and Donald Lockett, both of Dallas.
Glen Allen Kemp
OAK GROVE Glen Allen Kemp died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. He was 65.
Born in Pioneer, Mr. Kemp was a resident of Oak Grove.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Kemp; and a sister, Joyce Rachel.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Kemp Wilson of Oak Grove; and friends, including Albert Alexander and Linda Alexander.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Gayle Riles officiating. Burial will follow at Bayou Macon Cemetery in Pioneer.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Adam, Charles Howard, John Pritchard, Willie Thomas and Jessie Sullivan.
John H. Moulder
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. John H. Moulder died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, Ill. He was 99.
Born in Gamaliel, Ky., Mr. Moulder was a resident of Jacksonville. He was the former owner and operator of Moulder’s Grocery and Restaurant in Mattoon, Ill. He was a former farmer and employee of Chess and Wyman Stave Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina V. Parkhurst.
Survivors include a son, Bennett C. Moulder of Jacksonville; and a sister, Flois Frederickson of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 today at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon with the Rev. Ron Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at Humboldt Township Cemetery in Humboldt.
Visitation will be from 12:30 today until the service at the funeral home.
Wanda Ama Summerall
VALLEY PARK Wanda Ama Summerall died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Tri Lakes Hospital in Batesville, Miss. She was 95.
Born in Choctaw County, Miss Summerall had lived in Valley Park for the past 45 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Jeannie Gilliland of Como, Miss.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 today at Church of God of Prophecy in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Vickland Cemetery in Delta City, Miss., under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9:30 today until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gilliland, Gary Gilliland, Steve Gilliland, W.C. Shellby, John Chaney and Lloyd McMahon.
Herbert H. Swafford
TRANSYLVANIA Herbert H. Swafford died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at The Olive Branch in Tallulah. He was 74.
Born in Quilin, Mo., Mr. Swafford was a resident of Transylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Cedelia Swafford.
Survivors include his wife, Florine Swafford of Transylvania; three sons, Tommy Swafford of Transylvania, Jerry Swafford of Delhi and Terry Swafford of Oak Grove; a brother, Joe Swafford of Crossett, Ark.; a sister, Panzy Ross of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at Transylvania Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bradley, Danny Frith, Jimmy Stuart, William Driver, Larry Knight and Lamar Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Driver, J.T. Borden and Ormond Patrick.
