ORE CITY, Texas Patsy Ann Lynn died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Pittsburg Nursing Center in Pittsburg, Texas. She was 60.
A native of Meridian, Miss., Mrs. Lynn lived in Vicksburg before moving to Ore City, Texas, in 1992. She was a member of Little God Store Church.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond G. Lynn of Ore City; a stepson, Charles Ray Lynn of Vicksburg; three stepdaughters, Jo Ann Hamric, Deborah Kay Lynn and Susan Denise Johnson, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Sender Fay Wilmoth of Florence; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Tipton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Howard Johnson, Sean King, Stacy Lynn, Chuck Lynn, Bubba Lynn, Henry Peyton and Harold Hoover.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ray Lynn and Othell Burton.
Elvira Thomas
PORT GIBSON Elvira Thomas died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was 84.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Lee Howard and Julius Howard; her parents, Ed and Daisy Porter-Smith; and two brothers, Jerome Smith and Joseph Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Hezekiah Howard of Omaha, Neb., and Clarence Howard of Chicago; two brothers, Robert L. Smith and Laymon Smith, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Alma Duffin of Port Gibson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Beechland M.B. Church with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Russum, Miss., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. today, with family hour from 5 until 6, at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
Marie Smith Woodhouse
Marie Smith Woodhouse died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
She is survived by a daughter, Sarah McKenzie of Edwards; a son, Isaac N. Strong of Elgin, S.C.; and other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Roscoe Younger Sr.
Roscoe Younger Sr. died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 72.
Mr. Younger was retired from Mississippi Lumber Co. He was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church, serving as deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Younger and Ruby Sanders; his wife, Altha Jones Younger; and two sons, Vernon Dale Younger and Kevin Ray Younger.
Survivors include three sons, Roscoe Younger Jr. and Karl Allen Younger, both of Vicksburg, and Tommy Younger of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Carla Loving and Penny Sweet, both of Vicksburg; five brothers, Hoover Younger, Phlandis Younger and Felix Younger, all of Vicksburg, Eddie Younger of Jackson and Charlie Younger Jr. of Bolton; a sister, Evelyn Campbell of San Bernardino; eight grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
