[1/20/04]Warren Central was missing two starters on Monday, but found a huge confidence boost with a win over Clinton.

Josh Rushing and Allen Carlisle each scored a goal, and A.J. Barnes and Eika Duen added an assist apiece as the Vikings (12-5-1) beat No. 10 Clinton 2-0.

“That’s a big win heading into our last game on Friday and then into the playoffs next week,” WC coach Jay Harrison said. “Anytime you can beat Clinton at Clinton, and shut them out, you’ve got to feel good about it.”

WC was without starters Will Clark and Andrew Hendrix, who are nursing injuries, and Clinton (10-7) outshot the Vikings 9-7. But WC limited the Arrows’ scoring chances. Goal keeper Luke Sellers only had to make a handful of easy saves.

Rushing took care of the offense, with a goal off an assist from Barnes in the first half, and Carlisle scored off an assist from Duen in the second.
