Hattie G. Taccarino

MELBOURNE, Fla. Hattie G. Taccarino died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Fla. She was 89.

Born in Alton, Ky., Mrs. Taccarino was a resident of Melbourne, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Taccarino.

Survivors include a son, Paul A. Taccarino of Vicksburg; a daughter, Martha S. Taccarino of Vienna, Va.; and a brother, John H. Gudgel Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Beach Funeral Home West Chapel in Melbourne. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

Memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Club of IRCC, 1145 Mayflower Ave., Melbourne, FL 32940.

Ottis Lucille Waits

PIONEER Ottis Lucille Waits died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. She was 92.

Mrs. Waits was a resident of Pioneer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tillis Waits; a daughter, Nell Allen; her father, Joseph Alford Vining; and her mother, Gracie Gustavia Fryday.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Waits of Delhi, La., Charles Arlo Waits of Walla Walla, Wash., and Robert Lee Waits of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Billie Jean Gunderman of Pioneer; two sisters, Gertie Smith of Monroe and Marie Rigby of Shreveport, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pioneer Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy West and Kenny Duchesne officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery in Forest under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Pallbearers will be Larry Tubbs, Phillip E. Morris, Frankie Jones, Earl Bankston, Luke Rye and Dobbin Plunkett.

Olivia Stephens White

MONTICELLO Olivia Stephens White died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. She was 93.

Survivors include a grandson, Scott Barber of Lloyd Star, Miss., formerly of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wanilla Baptist Church in Wanilla, Miss. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home and from 1:30 p.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.
