Andrea Donyelle Dent
Services for Andrea Donyelle “Donnie” Dent will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Faith Christian Center, 1100 Main St., with Dr. Ollie Hardaway officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Miss Dent died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 22.
A resident of Vicksburg, Miss Dent was a clerk at the Isle of Capri Hotel and was a member of Faith Christian Center. She was a 1999 graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Alcorn State University.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Curtis L. Dent, and her paternal grandparents, John and Morgan Hackett Dent.
Survivors include a daughter, Gabrielle A. Dent of Vicksburg; her parents, Belton P. Dent Sr. and Carolyn R. Dent, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Adrian R. Dent of Clinton and Angela R. Dent of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Abbie M. Dent; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and friends, including Nathaniel Jackson of Rolling Fork.
Ezekiel Rankin
LORMAN Services for Ezekiel Rankin will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Roosevelt Harrett officiating, assisted by Walter Chambers. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Russum under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at the funeral home with family hour from 6 until 8 and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
Mr. Rankin died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at his home in Lorman. He was 86.
Mr. Rankin was a member and deacon at St. Mark M.B. Church in the Blue Hill community. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of Sunrise Lodge No. 579.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Captain and Rosetta Brinner.
Mr. Rankin is survived by his wife, Hystercine Rankin of Lorman; three sons, Teddy Wesley Rankin and Ezekiel Rankin Jr., both of Denver, Colo., and Marvin Rankin of Wayne, Mich.; four daughters, Myrtis Marie Rankin of Memphis, Regina Rankin of Lorman, Deborah Ann Rankin of Talladega, Ala., and Bonnie Denise Jones of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a brother, Albert Rankin and Elisa Rankin, both of Lorman; a sister, Canary Brinston of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren; and friends and other relatives, including Joseph Rogers of Port Gibson.
Bennie Lee Rogers
FAYETTE Bennie Lee “Daddy Bo” Rogers died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. He was 67.
Born in Jefferson County to the late Fed Rogers and Geneva Gray, Mr. Rogers was a resident of Fayette.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Edward Conway; and a sister, Bernice R. Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Della Jean Rogers of Fayette; a son, Leroy Hunter of Morgan City, La.; five daughters, Patricia Earls and Carolyn Brown, both of Houma, La., Dorothy Jackson and Michelle Anderson, both of Fayette, and Lucille Donaldson of Church Hill; eight sisters, Clara Lee Rogers, Lillie Williams and Jenette Green, all of Natchez, Johnnie Mae Johnson of Chicago, Georgia Brown of Tallulah, JoAnn Davis of Newellton, Emma Valentine of Vallejo, Calif., and Shirley Adams of Vicksburg; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Katie Mae Grace of Chicago, Carrie Ann Knight of Vicksburg and Latrisha Wilson, whom he reared.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County High School Auditorium in Fayette with the Rev. Clarence Thomas Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Beckett Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 until 7 tonight at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until the service Saturday at the school.
Pallbearers will be Trent Hudson, Lehaman “Boe” Jackson, Albert Larry, Alphonse Larry Jr., Claudie Earls and Brock Conrad.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Hunter, James L. Earls Sr., James L. Earls Jr., Eric L. Rogers, Derrick L. Rogers, Charles Donaldson Sr., Charles Donaldson Jr., Robert Rogers, Lavinckey Rogers, Dalton Brown, Trevaughn Donaldson, Tony Anderson, Devin Anderson and Bentavia Anderson.
