The Vicksburg Post prints obituaries for residents, former residents and residents’ immediate family members who resided elsewhere when notified by a family member or a funeral home. There is no charge for printing an obituary, but all are edited to meet the newspaper’s requirements.
Craig Mitchell
Craig Mitchell died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at his home. He was 44.
A native of Bogalusa, La., Mr. Mitchell was a resident of Vicksburg. He was a laborer and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his father, Robert Moses of Bogalusa; his mother, Virginia Mitchell Smith of Edwards; two sisters, Sandra Robinson and Jerri Dean Peters, both of Bogalusa; four brothers, Isaac Moses and Charles Moses, both of New Orleans, and William Smith Jr. and Glenn Franklin Smith, both of Bogalusa; and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Eula Ree Tolbert
LUCEDALE Eula Ree Tolbert died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Glenn Oaks Nursing Home in Lucedale. She was 83.
Mrs. Tolbert was a native of Lucedale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nettie Harper Griffin; two sisters, Barbara “Babs” Roe and Katherine “Kitty” Coplind; a son, Arvis Tolbert; two grandchildren, Cecil Tolbert and Kelly Tolbert; and three great-grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Roger “Bud” Tolbert and Raymond “Pete” Tolbert, both of Lucedale, Everett Tolbert of Biloxi, Linwood Tolbert of Pascagoula and Dale Tolbert of Vicksburg; two sisters, Helen Tuggle of Chicago and Bernadine Hawthorn of Starkville; a brother, Don Griffin of Lucedale; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at Howell M.B. Church in Lucedale under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were the grandsons and great-grandsons.
