Lula Mae Harris

PORT GIBSON Lula Mae Harris died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 54.

Mrs. Harris was a member of Providence Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher Harris of Norfolk, Va., and Reggie Harris of Port Gibson; her mother, Luana Dowery of Port Gibson; nine brothers, Alex Harris, Henry Harris, the Rev. Freddie Harris, John Charles Harris and Robert Harris, all of Port Gibson, Ernest Harris of Chicago, George Harris of Corinth, Nathaniel Harris of Vicksburg and Eddie Lee Hedrick of Tillman, Miss.; three sisters, Gloria Thomas of Monroe, La., Lillie Thomas of Vicksburg and Clara Wells of Tillman; two grandsons; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Rose Hazely of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Providence Christian Church in Tillman with the Rev. Freddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at the funeral home, with family hour from 6 until 7, and from 1 p.m. Sunday until the service at the church.
