Football, basketball dominate awards day

[5/13/04]Football and basketball standouts ruled the day at the Vicksburg High and Warren Central athletic banquets.

Vicksburg’s Tiffany Hubbard, a Holmes Community College basketball signee, earned the school’s best girl athlete award, and football and track standout Casey Younger earned the school’s best boy athlete.

Younger played on the Gators’ defensive line and was also a standout track athlete.

Hubbard led the Missy Gators in scoring this past season. She was also a high jumper and sprinter for the track team.

Warren Central standout football and soccer player Will Clark earned best boy athlete honors. He was a stalwart defenseman on the soccer team and the Vikings’ place-kicker for football.

He kicked a 50-yard field goal in the rain two years ago, and added a 53-yarder this season.

He was joined by basketball and track athlete Ebon Williams.
