Elsie Lee Welch Cupit

TALLULAH Elsie Lee Welch Cupit died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 93.

Born in Franklin Parish, La., Mrs. Cupit had lived in Tallulah for 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Cupit; and a daughter, Opal Cupit.

Survivors include a son, Joe Cupit of Tallulah; three grandchildren, Kevin Cupit of Titusville, Fla., Dr. Cynthia Cupit Swenson of Charleston, S.C., and Theresa Cupit Hendrix of Winfield, La.; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be employees of Cupit Construction Company.

Blanche Lamb

OAK GROVE Blanche Lamb died Monday, May 17, 2004, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. She was 78.

Mrs. Lamb was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Leula Smith; three brothers, Howard Smith, Roland Smith and Edward Smith; and a sister, Wauline Robertson.

She is survived by her husband, Lee E. Lamb of Oak Grove; a son, Mike Lamb of Oak Grove; a daughter, Donna Kirkpatrick of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Clara Guess of Bossier City, La.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Church of God in Oak Grove with the Revs. Paul Ninemire and Roy Pepmiller officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Stanley, Steve Bolding, Reece Traylor, Roy Brown, Danny Gunter and Kent Elkins.

Matthew James LeBlanc

ABBEVILLE, La. Matthew James LeBlanc died Friday, May 14, 2004, at his home in Abbeville, La. He was 40.

A former Vicksburg resident, Mr. LeBlanc was a graduate of Vicksburg High School. He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was employed in retail sales and as a printer for Fruit of the Loomin Abbeville. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, Martha Griffin of Abbeville and Eric J. LeBlanc of Kaplan, La.; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Boatright of Broussard, La., and Katharine L. Meaux of Abbeville; and a brother, Eric Michael LeBlanc Sr. of Abbeville.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Don Derivaux officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home.

Pearlie Mae Walton

Pearlie Mae Walton died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.

A native of Sharkey County, Mrs. Walton was a longtime resident of Vicksburg and a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church, Villa Nova.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, including Leatrice Stampley and Bobby Johnson of Vicksburg, cousins and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
