Billie Pippin Bryan

LAKE PROVIDENCE Billie Pippin Bryan died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in Texarkana, Ark. She was 60.

Born in Lake Providence, Mrs. Bryan had been a Texarkana resident for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Pippin, and three brothers, Robert Pippin, Howell Pippin and Delmar Pippin.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Lynn Bryan of Texarkana; one son, Larry Paul Bryan of Texarkana; two daughters, Annette Tatom of Stamps, Ark., and Carol Minter of Buckner, Ark.; her mother, Ida Mae Pippin of Lake Providence; two sisters, Wincie Mae Welch of Baton Rouge and Mary Ann Pippin of Lake Providence; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Ken Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jared Minter, Joey Minter, Adam Minter, Billy Wayne Creech, Ronald Pippin and Delmar Gene Pippin.

Clyde Cooks

EDWARDS Clyde Cooks died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at his home in Edwards. He was 42.

Mr. Cooks is survived by six brothers, Jimmie Dotson of Grandview, Mo., and Samuel Cooks, Curtis Armstrong, Ronnell Cooks, Alfonzo Carter and Gregory Tatum, all of Edwards; eight sisters, Sharlena Fahngon of Columbia, S.C., and Elise Beacham, Gertha Ponce, Shirley Williams, Annette Jones, Dorothy Richards, Denise Richards and Ella Mae King, all of Edwards; and other relatives and friends.

Lakeview Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Melba Fowler

Services for Melba Fowler will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, La., with Jerald Williams officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Zion Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Stripland officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fowler died Sunday, May 23, 2004. She was 92.

Born in Jonesboro, La., she had lived in St. Joseph since 1944. She was a retired seamstress, a homemaker and a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Natchez.

Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Alton Fowler; her parents, David and Winnie Iva Walsworth; a brother, J.D. Walsworth; and a granddaughter, Carol Ann DeRossette.

Survivors include a son, Ellis Fowler of Baton Rouge, La.; a daughter, Theda M. DeRossette of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Billy DeRossette, Sue DeRossette Tippy, Elise Fowler Laurent, Marci Fowler Schnebelen, Blake Fowler and Bobby DeRossette; a stepgranddaughter, Heather Marie Tull; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Vic Mahoney Jr., Sonny Fowler, James Gipson, Sonny Kifer, Mike Smith, Irby Gamble and Jim Burke.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Rusty Barnes.

Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s in Monroe, La., or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
