Percy Coleman

Services for Percy Coleman will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Spring Hill M.B. Church on Mission 66 with the Rev. Frank Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home and from noon Sunday until the service at the church.

Mr. Coleman died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 86.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Coleman was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a retired porter with the Mississippi River Commission and a member of American Legion Tyner-Ford Post No. 213 and Spring Hill M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Coleman and Kizzy Young, and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Merinda T. Coleman of Vicksburg; three daughters, Shirley Coleman Harris and Johnnie Bernice Coleman Johnson, both of Vicksburg, and Jeanie Coleman Washington of Jackson; four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Jeanie Earl Coleman of Lake Providence and Henry Mayfield Jr. of Vicksburg.
