Bertha Lee Russell

Services for Bertha Lee Russell will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Robbins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating.

Mrs. Russell died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at her home. She was 65.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Reese; her mother, Lillie Lee Newland; a brother, Leon Blackmore; and a sister, Joan Adams.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Blackmore of Vicksburg; a son, Bobby Lee Blackmore of Vicksburg; a sister, Viola Blackmore Chiplin of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Eddie Washington Sr.

FAYETTE Services for Eddie “Rabbit” Washington will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Wright Cemetery in Yokena.

Mr. Washington died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 56.

A resident of Fayette, Mr. Washington worked at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Port Gibson. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fannie Washington; one daughter, Glenda Williams; and three sisters, Willie B. Lyons, Georgia Freeman and Emma Gaskin.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Mae Anderson Washington of Fayette; five daughters, Gwen Williams of Vicksburg, Shalonda Anderson and Narshunda Anderson, both of Starkville, Lovmetrica Campbell of Natchez and Gina Campbell of Niagra Falls, N.Y.; four sons, Eddie Washington Jr. of Edwards, George Washington and Stacy Ferguson, both of Vicksburg, and Benjamin Williams of Zephyrhills, Fla.; four sisters, Daisy Smith, Ethel White, Mary Helen Carson and Catherine Adams, all of Vicksburg; a brother, Wilbour Washington of Vicksburg; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including the Freeman, Lyons, Gaskins, Buck, Griffin and Wilson families.

Barbara A. Wright

Services for Barbara A. Wright will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Williams Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 until 5 p.m. today.

Ms. Wright died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at her home. She was 60.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Wright, and a brother, Judge Wright.

Survivors include her mother, Roberta Wright of Vicksburg; four sisters, Rose Ann Wright of Aurora, Ill.; Shappy Wright and Roberta Polk, both of Vicksburg; Rochella Lewis of Victorville, Calif.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
