An annual jingle

Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department employee Walter Coleman adds cedar limbs to the Santa Claus and reindeer display Monday morning on the Walnut Street side of City Hall as downtown holiday decorating continues. The jingling motorized display was donated to the city in the 1950s and since has been an annual favorite at City Hall. This week, city workers will also be putting lights on the 30-foot downtown tree at River Stage Plaza and displaying along Washington Street pieces from Lester and Jackie Grant’s Santa’s Lane collection, which previously was displayed on Freetown Road and was donated to the city by their children after their deaths.
