John O. Ballard
John O. Ballard died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.
Mr. Ballard was born in Kemper County and moved to Vicksburg in 1951. He was a welder for LeTourneau Co. and a member of the Apostolic Church of Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Odis Ballard and Mary Elizabeth Ballard; and three brothers, James Ballard, William Carlton Ballard and George Richard Ballard.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Clarice Ballard of Vicksburg; three sons, Kenneth Ray Ballard, David Lamar Ballard and Joseph Alexander Ballard, all of Vicksburg; one daughter, Sharon Ann Henderson of Vicksburg; two brothers, Marvin Ballard of Meridian and Odis Eugene Ballard of Newbarn, Tenn.; three sisters, Emma Jean Hambrick and Virginia Spooner, both of Meridian, and Vera Mae Warren of Henderson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ballard, Chad Ballard, Robert Thornton, Raymond Edwards, Tony Hambrick, and Toby Parks.
Gleneve W. Finney
Gleneve “Neve” W. Finney died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. She was 75.
Born and reared in Nashville, she graduated from West High School. In 1952, she moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., where she lived for 20 years. In 1972, she moved to Vicksburg, where she was a teller at First National Bank of Vicksburg.
Mrs. Finney was a member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ and was a member of the Vicksburg Ladies Bible Study.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Ambrose Wolfe and Cynthia Docia Wolfe; two brothers, Charles K. Wolfe and Billy E. Wolfe; a sister, Clara Mae English; and a grandchild, Stacy Renee Allen.
Survivors include her husband, Carl F. Finney of Vicksburg; two sons, Michael W. Finney of Vicksburg and Robert C. Finney of Breckenridge, Texas; three daughters, Cynthia M. Nash of Vicksburg, Debra F. Allen of Greenville and Patricia M. Watkins of Montgomery, Ala.; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Carl Nash, Michael Wayne Finney Jr., Jonathan Matthew Finney, Joseph Alan Nash, James Nathan Bedford Allen and William Joseph English.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Finney Jr., Reggie Crawford, Harold Blue, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Murray Whitaker, C.D. Nash, Wade Hammack, Ron Green and Clyde Redmon.
