Pauline Crout

Pauline Crout died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Crout retired from the Culkin Water District after 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Crout of Vicksburg; a brother, Otis Frith; and a sister, Jessie Grayson.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Raleigh has charge of arrangements.

Ethel Bertha Clark Elmore

Ethel Bertha “Net” Clark Elmore died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at her home. She was 99.

Mrs. Elmore was a member of New Zion M.B. Church, where she was a former secretary and on the Mother Board. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Willard Elmore, Henry Wright and Paul Elmore; two daughters, Georgia Raye and Bertha Elmore; her father, Julius Clark Sr.; her mother, Ruth Sanders; and a brother, Julius Clark Jr.

She is survived by her husband, George Elmore of Vicksburg; and three daughters, Alma Moore, Gwendolyn Carter and Mary Elmore, all of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Henry D. Massey

OAK GROVE Henry D. Massey died Tuesday Dec. 21, 2004, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. He was 68.

Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jo Massey; his father, Lee Massey; his mother, Annie Belle Massey; two brothers, Harold D. Massey and Hillard Massey; and a sister, Syble Hart.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Massey of Oak Grove; two sons, Henry Lee Massey of Columbia, Mo., and Bill J. Massey of Atlanta; one daughter, Connie D. Rogers of South Boston, Va.; two brothers, Roy Massey of Bastrop, La., and Odell Massey of Pine Bluff, Ark.; seven sisters, Bonnie Sims, Deloris Aaron and Thelma Reynolds, all of Bastrop, Lillian Traweek of Oak Grove, Faye Wagner of Farmerville, La., Paulette Whitehead of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Agnes Thompson of Sand Spring, Okla.; stepchildren; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brett Sims, David Wayne Sims, Jerry Kavalir, Larry Debleiux, Benny Cannon and Steve Sims.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Rogers, Lee Massey, Jared Massey, Blake Massey and Joseph Rogers.

Josephine Young

Services for Josephine Young will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be until 5 p.m. today at Robbins Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 64.

A longtime resident of Vicksburg, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Whitley and Alice Thomas Whitley; two sons, Jesse Ray Carson and Lee Arthur Carson; a stepson, Mitchell Young Jr.; and two sisters, Hattie Jones and Florence Bailey.

She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Young; two sons, Gary Johnson and Calvin Johnson, both of Vicksburg; five daughters, Annie Ruth Johnson, Alice “Tina” Johnson, Barbara Johnson Harris, Ruby Carson and Patricia “Get it Girl” Carson, all of Vicksburg; five stepsons, Michael Young, Willie Earl Young, Zachary Young and Gregory L. Young, all of Vicksburg, and Elbert Young of Macon, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Cariola Price and Margie Thiambie, both of Vicksburg; a brother, William Whitley Jr. of Austin, Texas; a sister, Ruby Thomas of Vicksburg; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Whitley, Harris, Carson, Johnson and Williams families.
