St. Aloysius rips West Lincoln; Clinton blanks Vicksburg, 4-0|[4/17/05]

Blake Tidwell hit an inside-the-park home run and pitched a complete game to lead St. Aloysius to a 14-4 win over West Lincoln.

Andy Wiles doubled as the Flashes (14-7) held a 9-0 lead after the second inning.

After West Lincoln scored two runs in each of the third and fourth innings, St. Al added three in the fifth and two in the sixth.

The Flashes will open the playoffs on Thursday, most likely at Stringer.

Clinton 4, Vicksburg 0

Clinton’s William Sprowles singled twice and pitched a complete game shutout as the Arrows blanked Vicksburg.

Tyler Wells and Eric Coleman each doubled for the Gators (17-8), who will open the Class 5A state playoffs on Thursday at Oak Grove.

Steven Price (4-1) pitched six innings. He allowed four runs on five hits and struck out four.

The Gators will wrap up the regular season on Monday at Madison Central at 7 p.m.

WC 5, West Ouachita 3

Parker White improved to 8-2 on the season with 6 1/3 innings of work in a win over West Ouachita on Saturday.

White allowed eight hits and struck out seven. Eric Douglas pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief for the save.

Josh Gordon belted a 3-run home run and Zach Balthrop hit a solo shot as the Vikings improved to 16-11 on the season.

WC is scheduled to host Callaway on Monday at 7 p.m.
